GREY: for post herpetic neuralgia (Ralvo is the preferred, cost effective brand for lidocaine plaster)

1. See neuropathic pain guideline
2. For topical treatment consider capsaicin cream first
3. Patients initiated on lidocaine plasters should be reviewed 2-4 weeks after initiation and the on-going need assessed regularly and discontinued if ineffective.
4. Lidocaine plasters for all other indications should be reviewed and discontinued.

DO NOT PRESCRIBE (DNP): for all other indications except PHN.
