Comments

GREEN: sodium chloride 0.9% nebuliser liquid 2.5ml unit dose ampoules.

For treatment of minor self-limiting conditions such as nasal congestion, self-care is encouraged.  See Derbyshire CCGs self-care policy.

GREY: Sodium Chloride 0.9% nasal drops (Decision date - October 2018)

GREY after specialist Initiation: only after a suitable trial in hospital. 

Sodium chloride 7% nebules (preferred cost effective brand Resp-Ease). (Decision date - September 2017).

Used in patients with bronchiectasis and the presence of thick sputum that optimised fluid intake and oral mucolytics (e.g.carbocisteine) have either been ineffective or not tolerated.
